So, funny story, I was invited to speak at the Mom 2.0 Summit which is coming up in May. Only, like the proverbial tree that falls in the woods, my email account was in a coma and I never received the great news.
When I got a "Hey Speakers..." email a few weeks ago I was convinced that I was being punked. Was this a Cinderella moment or a Carrie one (and I'm not talking Bradshaw). Well, if I had a tiara and a glass slipper I'd be putting them on right now, because I am in fact part of an amazing line up of women and men who are participating this year.
Last year's conference literally changed the course of my professional life. It gave me the nudge I needed to create Thinking Cap Productions and I couldn't be more grateful. Brene Brown, Jennifer Lawson, Pilar Guzman and the hilarious Samantha Bee motivated a room filled with bloggers and entrepreneurs by sharing their own stories of success. Over and over they sent the message that following your passion fearlessly (even when you're absolutely terrified) is the only way to succeed.
I'll be talking about marketing to women, and hopefully encouraging brands to realize that if you're going to talk to moms, it helps to speak the language. (Hint: hire a mom to do it).
